We are all encouraged to “go green” at this time, in all of our lives, recycling our waste, driving fuel-efficient cars to cut harmful CO2 emissions. Logically, it would be that the cars that offer the best fuel economy would be the smallest – light and nimble in focused vehicles. For families who need as much space as possible to accommodate brood, 2014 Peugeot 508 may seem that their options for green auto market is limited. However, there are a number of eco-friendly cars that do not skimp on space, but still impressively eco-conscious.
Take a look at my list of the top five fuel-efficient cars for families – I am sure that you will get to “go green” environment envy:
Toyota Prius – the Prius was the first hybrid car is put into mass production. Over the years, it has been improved several times, and this constant revision means that the Prius has consistently remained one of the most fuel efficient cars on the market. Its engine has been improved and it is now producing 134 horsepower (electric motor with power supplied), compared to the previous model 110 horsepower. Parts thereof is also made lighter and it is made more aerodynamic.
2014 Peugeot 508 – Although it is not a hybrid car, Peugeot 508 is one of the best fuel efficiency ratings around. It was also the first non-hybrid, non-electric car to achieve carbon dioxide emissions rating of less than 110 grams per kilometer. It does not sacrifice power in the economy, either – it is equipped with a 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine. 2014 Peugeot 508 also offers a very good safety rating – always an important consideration for families – and achieved a score of five out of five from the European New Car Assessment Programme.
Hyundai i40 – Available in the real estate and saloon versions, the Hyundai i40 is a spacious vehicle, which also ranks as one of the most fuel-efficient cars of its kind. It is located 553 liters of boot space and the rear seats folded down, this rises to 1719 liters. Such as the Peugeot 508, it also scores five out of five European New Car Assessment of safety tests. In terms of carbon dioxide emissions, the i40 releases a light 113 grams per kilometer during the use of 114 brake horsepower.
