2014 McLaren P1 super car officially make debut at Geneva Motor Show (March 4, 2013). This McLaren super car come and appear as the new super car from Mclaren. The McLaren P1 is a huge step forward for the company and for the hypercar game in general. It represents the pinnacle of McLaren’s knowledge in creating road cars that integrate the best Formula 1 technology.
For the Powertrain, 2014 McLaren P1 come with 3.8 Liter twin turbo V8 making 903 HP and 663 lbs-ft of torque. ( Engine 727hp/531lbs-ft + electric 176HP+191lbs-ft). All that power is routed through a 7 speed DCT to the rear wheels. The P1 can crawl along at 30MPH for up to 12 miles. Aerodynamics are key for this supercar and its shape reflects that. For the speed, it produces five times more downforce the McLaren MP4-12C. The door ducts bring cooling to the engine and the whole shape from top to bottom aims to point air over the rear wing, making up to 600kg of downforce. Speaking of the wing, it adjusts and extends automatically at speed to boost downforce. All these features combine to make a very fast car ( 0-60 mph – Less than three seconds, 0-120 mph – under seven seconds and 0-186 mph – under 17 seconds.
The 2014 McLaren P1 will be exclusively left-hand drive, upsetting some purists in its right-hand-drive English home market. Only 375 will be built and are priced at $1.15 million. The order books are open now in U.S. McLaren Centers. LaFerrari, in contrast, will be less exclusive, thanks to the 499-model production run that could blossom to more than 1,200 cars as it did with the wildly-popular F40.
